“I am Maryrose and I started to create this left-handed three-path labyrinth in my back garden in Enfield, North London on Thursday 3rd May 2001. It was completed with a blessing ceremony on Monday 7th May 2001. I have had great pleasure in creating it and in offering it as a healing and meditation to the many visitors that have been drawn to it.
It is orientated to the east and represents new beginnings. There are two guardians of this labyrinth – black Otterwoman to the left, when facing west, and white-stone Buddha to the right beside the little apple tree. At the time of its creation I was hoping to move home to be a Granny-Carer for my expected baby grandchild. I had not yet found my new home nor had the baby been born in May 2001.
Walking the labyrinth every day while I was in Enfield, sometimes in sunshine or blessed by rain, sometimes in the darkness under the stars, has enabled an easy transition for me from Enfield to a new way of life. The new occupants of my old Enfield house have requested that the labyrinth remained there. It feels that this sacred labyrinth site has brought a great blessing to many – thank you.”
